What the heck do I with these little things called ICONS?
Using icons you can customize the appearance of diverse things on your environment work such program shortcuts, folder and files. You can also collect icons just for fun. But don't be crazy at the point to start to draw icons - you will be quickly addicted.



Icon format avaliable for download
There are three types of icon set archives available for download. Please choose the one that fits your operational system environment.

  Windows .ico ( .zip format for download)
  Macintosh Folder (.hqx format for download)
  Linux Format .png (.zip format for download)



How To Make Use of Icons
:: Microsoft Windows

On Windows you have many ways chenge the icons. To change the My Computer, My Documents, My Network Neighborhood and Recycle Bin icons, follow these steps:
1. Right click the desktop.
2. Choose Properties from the menu.
3. Search for "Effects" or "Plus!" tab on the properties dialog.
4. Select the icon you wish to change.
5. In the icon selection window, press the "Browse" button.
6. Locate to the folder that contains the icons (.ico) or icon library (.icl) you downloaded.
7. After choose the ICO file you want to use press "Open".
8. Press "OK" in the icon selection window and properties dialog window.


To change the icon of a shortcut:
1. Right click the shortcut.
2. Choose Properties from the menu that appears.
3. In the properties dialog, press the "Change Icon" button to open the icon selection window.
4. Next, press the "Browse" button.
5. Locate to the folder that contains the icons (.ico) or icon library (.icl) you downloaded.
6. Choose the icon file you want to use and press "Open".
7. Press "OK" in the icon selection and properties dialog window.


Using the Registry Editor you can go deeper inside your system and modify many other things unreachable by the normal Microsoft Windows customization options. Be careful doing this!

:: Mac OS

There is a wonderful program called IconDropper avaliable for download in http://www.iconfactory.com, it really worth a try! "IconDropper is a software program that allows you to customize your Mac's icons on-the-fly through the use of drag-and-drop technology. Instead of having to copy and paste custom icons from many different locations on your hard drive, IconDropper stores all icons in custom designed sets called "packs". A single click is required to update any folder's icon and see the results in real time..." As said by Iconfactory website.

:: Linux/KDE Icon Change

It is very easy to change icons on KDE.
1. First you need to copy the icons to a directory like $home/.kde/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps, if the path does not exists you will need to create it;
2. If you want the icons avaliable to all your users you must copy it (upon root) to the same directory as above;
3. The most quick ways to change the icons are:
a. Desktop - Right click mouse button on an icon, choose properties, click on the icon button e choose a new one on the list; b. Mime Types - To change files like MP3, TXT, JPG, GIF and others go to the control center panel, open file browsing, file associations and choose the file you want to change the icon in the Know Type list; c. KDE Menu - Right click on Menu-K, choose Panel and then Menu Editor. You can modify all items including the folders.

As a matter of fact our town is a giant pixel. A cube, with 4 corners. Each corner has its shops. You can navigate between the corners using the little "Next corner" signs that can be found on the bottom right and bottom left of each page. You also can leave the town anytime using the bottom center link. Take a look:

The first corner that you will see. You can visit our Office to hire us for a job or browse for some icons inside our personal shop, Electriconland Store, where you will find miscellaneous of icons.

:: Left Corner
The Haze is the best place around to find icons of album covers that made history. If you like the old great records, this is your shop. For those who like the underground stuff it could be a good idea to sign up the Bakudan Club. Go there and ask for more information.

:: Back Corner
The Swlabr comics is the sensation last days in the town, there is very rare comics awaiting you there! But if you are into the computer stuff do not miss the chance to visit Oggh Electronic Shop and see the latest software releases. Looking for fun, huh? Try Gabu's Pub or The Bakudan Club, you will not regret!

:: Right Corner
Food! Fine food is the key to the happy life. Enjoy the best food around eating in Gordo's Fine Food. This corner is the right place to reach Gabu's Pub and have some special drinks!
